With More Than 675K Deaths COVID-19 Surpasses Spanish Flu as Deadliest Event in U.S. History

The COVID-19 pandemic has now claimed the lives of more than 675,000 Americans. According to Johns Hopkins University, COVID has now claimed 676,059 Americans out of a total of 42,286,531 cases representing a mortality rate of 1.6%.

More Americans have now died of COVID-19 than died of the Spanish Flu more than a century ago. COVID-19 is the single deadliest event in U.S. history. Deadlier not only than the Spanish Flu but all of our wars including both World Wars, Korea, Vietnam and The Civil War.

Unfortunately, there are there are right-wingers who would have us believe that medical professionals are classifying gunshot and car accident victims as having died of COVID. These are the same people who don't want masks and don't want vaccines. Yet even a Fox News poll shows that a majority of Republican voters are favors of mask and vaccine mandates. Because without them we will never get out of this mess which Trump created and exacerbated. The survival of our country depends on it. God help us and even that might not be enough.
