After being thoroughly humiliated and reduced to tears yesterday when Congress overwhelming restored $1 billion in funding for Israel's Iron Dome defense, New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez apologized for voting present rather than voting against the measure. AOC claimed "hateful targeting" made her change her vote.
She did not elaborate who was doing the "hateful targeting". I suspect what AOC views as "hateful targeting" is merely criticism which she evidently considers herself above. But if anyone is guilty of "hateful targeting" it's AOC for singling out Israel in the first place.
Mind you, Ted Deutch bluntly accused fellow Democrat Rashida Tlaib of engaging in anti-Semitism. But this didn't stop her from voting against the Iron Dome voting. The same was true for seven other Democratic Congressmen including Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, Cori Bush and Andre Carson. One Republican, Thomas Massie (who recently likened vaccine mandates to the Holocaust) also voted against Iron Dome funding.
When you look it like that, AOC's vote was a cop out. I wonder how her fellow Squad members felt about her present vote. They must have felt like she threw them under the bus.
Of course, AOC could have avoided all this had she not singled out Israel in the first place. For this she has only herself to blame. But she won't nor will she learn from her mistake. She will simply repeat both her foolishness behavior and her hateful targeting of Israel.
