Hillary Hasn't Lost The Election Yet, But Surely She Has Lost North Carolina

With three debates to come between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, it is far too early to conclude that Hillary has lost this election.

However, given her reaction to the police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott and the two days of rioting that have ensued in Charlotte, I think it is safe to say that Hillary Clinton will lose North Carolina. Tweeting out, "Keith Lamont Scott. Terence Crutcher. Too many others. This has got to end. -H," helps her cause no more than describing half of Trump's supporters as "deplorable".

Yes, the Terence Crutcher shooting in Tulsa, Oklahoma doesn't look so good, but Hillary pulled an Obama on Keith Lamont Scott effectively pronouncing the officer who shot Scott as guilty of racial profiling before it was revealed the officer in question is black. Obama set the whole tone in 2009 when he smeared Sgt. Crowley and the Cambridge Police Department for "acting stupidly" in the arrest of his friend Henry Louis Gates despite admitting he "did not have all the facts." Where it concerns law enforcement it has been the facts be damned and it may be finally coming home to roost.

Hillary's supporters will point out there have been tweets in support of law enforcement, but unlike the Keith Lamont Scott tweet they are not accompanied by the letter H which indicates she actually composed the tweet. So we know Hillary's heart isn't with law enforcement.

The people of North Carolina, particularly those in Charlotte, are going to have to deal with the consequences of these riots for years. Hillary accusing a black police officer of racism without evidence that he acted wrongly will not sit well with people. Hillary hasn't lost the election yet, but surely she has lost North Carolina. And if Hillary does indeed lose North Carolina (and with it the election) she will have only Herself to blame.
