U.S. Surpasses 55 Million COVID Cases

The United States has now surpassed 55 million COVID-19 cases. According to Johns Hopkins University, there have been 55,069,347 cases resulting in 826,057 deaths representing a mortality rate of 1.5%

After taking only 2 days to go from 53 to 54 million cases, it took 3 days to go from 54 to 55 million cases although there was very likely lag time due to the New Year's holiday. In four weeks, there have been nearly 6 million new COVID cases - more than the U.K. and France combined over the same period. According to Our World in Data, current COVID hospitalizations exceed 90,000 people

2022, or a very good part of it, will make for a long year.
