After being found guilty in November of the 2020 murder of Ahmaud Arbery, Superior Court Judge Timothy Walmsley sentenced all three men to life in prison.
Father and son Greg and Travis McMichael are ineligible for parole while their friend William Bryan won't be eligible for parole until 2052 by which time he would be 82 years old.
Of course, none of this will bring back Ahmaud Arbery. But perhaps it will give Arbery's family some measure of comfort. Every once in a great while justice is served. One can only hope this will deter white people from taking up arms to wantonly kill a black man going for a jog or otherwise simply going about his business.
