Canada Has COVIDIOTS Too

Although nearly 80% of Canadians are fully vaccinated, Canada has its shares of COVIDIOTS too. 

During the weekend, a convoy of truckers converged on Ottawa ostensibly to protest a new measure which took effect on January 15th which required Canadian truckers returning from the U.S. to be fully vaccinated while those who were still unvaccinated to be tested and to quarantine. But the protest has expanded against all vaccine mandates. The truckers have blocked traffic in and out of Ottawa and it is unclear how long they will be there with some intending to remain until vaccine mandates are repealed. 

An estimated 83-87% of Canadian truckers are vaccinated and the Canadian Truckers Association has pointed out that most of the people involved with the protest have no connection to the trucking industry.

Some of the protesters vandalized the Terry Fox statue near the Rideau Mall and also danced on The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Others have seen fit to display Nazi and Confederate flags while others have harassed soup kitchen workers at the Shepherds of Good Hope by demanding food intended for the homeless. Naturally, this so-called convoy of truckers has earned the praise of defeated former President Trump, Elon Musk, Joe Rogan and just about every other right-wing crank you can think of.

While I am no fan of Justin Trudeau, he cannot remain in an undisclosed location indefinitely nor can he give in to this foolishness. Unless the organizers decide to retreat in an orderly fashion, the Trudeau government will have to put an end to this nonsense sooner rather than later.
