Yesterday, Muslim leaders from several states convened in Dearborn, Michigan to launch an #AbandonBiden campaign. They are angry at President Biden's stalwart support of Israel in the wake of Hamas attack on October 7th.
The purpose of #AbandonBiden is to make Joe Biden a one-term President.
This is a classic case of being careful of what you wish. Or cutting of your nose to spite your face.
Because if the organizers of #AbandonBiden attain their goal then this means the return of Donald Trump as President of the United States.
Perhaps they've forgotten the Muslim travel ban. Well, for his part, Trump not only intends to bring back the Muslim travel ban, but bar refugees from Gaza from entering the United States and deporting immigrants who support Hamas.
I cannot imagine this is what these Muslim leaders want. Yet if they insist on turning their ire against President Biden then this is what they will get.
Now I'm aware these organizers are not calling upon Muslim voters to support Trump but rather to either leave their ballot blank or support a third-party candidate. Yet in a state like Michigan or Pennsylvania doing that might be sufficient to put Trump over the top.
And when Trump issues their deportation orders or puts them into internment camps then perhaps they can reflect on their foolish behavior.
