These qualities make him the perfect heir apparent to Donald Trump and in the past few days has been generating buzz as the Republican standard bearer in 2024.
The Fox News host put those full qualities on display when he renewed his attacks on Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth calling her "a moron" and "a coward."
What does Carlson know of bravery? He is no more prepared to lose his limbs in combat then spend five years as a prisoner of war. Yet Carlson's attacks on Duckworth are reminiscent of Trump's attacks on McCain. As vicious as Trump's attacks on McCain's character and service to this country were - they worked. Carlson is counting on lightning to strike twice.
As Carlson seeks to delegitimize Duckworth's service to the country he also seeks to undermine the fight against COVID-19. Carlson claimed masks and social distancing have "no basis of any kind in science."
Of course, Carlson is no more a scientist than he is a soldier. But there is a critical mass in this country who discount knowledge and expertise of any kind nor have any empathy towards others. This embrace of no nothingness helped put Trump in office. Carlson hopes to spread no nothingness far and wide enough to make him the second coming of Trump as if we needed a second helping. But Carlson is here to spoon feed the nation with cruelty and stupidity and, if necessary, force feed it.
No doubt at this very moment Tucker Carlson is stirring the pot with tonight's edition of the sixty minutes hate.
