I was happy to see that Chris Davis broke out of his MLB record 0 for 54 slump by going 3 for 5 with 4 RBIs even if it was at the expense of the Boston Red Sox as the Baltimore Orioles beat them at Fenway Park 9-5 yesterday afternoon. Davis snapped his drought with a first inning two run single off Rick Porcello.
I told my Dad, "Imagine if Chris Davis goes on a 57 game hitting streak."
To which Dad replied, "That would be the only story in baseball. It would be the only story period."
UPDATE: No streak. Davis went 0 for 4 on Sunday, but did hit his first home run of the season today during the Orioles' 8-1 victory over the Red Sox on Patriots' Day.
