Ilhan Omar Compares Her 9/11 Remarks to President Bush's 9/11 Remarks at Ground Zero

Is Ilhan Omar really this stupid?

After rightly being lambasted for claiming the attacks of September 11, 2001 as "some people did something", the freshman Minnesota Democrat is on the defensive.

Now she is likening her remarks to those of former President George W. Bush at Ground Zero three days after the attacks. Omar tweeted:

“The people — and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!” President George W. Bush Was Bush downplaying the terrorist attack? What if he was a Muslim 🤔

Good Lord!!!

Well, let's take a look at what he actually said:

President Bush: Thank you all. I want you all to know -- it [bullhorn] can't go any louder -- I want you all to know that American today, American today is on bended knee, in prayer for the people whose lives were lost here, for the workers who work here, for the families who mourn. The nation stands with the good people of New York City and New Jersey and Connecticut as we mourn the loss of thousands of our citizens.

Rescue Worker: I can't hear you!

President Bush: I can hear you! I can hear you! The rest of the world hears you! And the people -- and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon.

Never mind that President Bush was speaking amidst the ruins of the Twin Towers where. Not only was President Bush not downplaying the attacks, he was telling the world that the United States was ready to go to war. The very war the very organization she was speaking before (CAIR) claimed was undermining the civil liberties of Muslim Americans.

The fact that Omar could make this comparison shows several things - an excess of vanity, a complete lack of self-awareness and delusions of grandeur. Bush was speaking to raise the morale of the people conducting the rescue efforts of the deadliest attack on American soil against civilians. Omar was speaking at a fundraising event for an organization that excuses Islamist terrorism. There is simply no comparison.

The fact that Omar would ask "What if he was a Muslim?" demonstrates that she thinks only of herself and not the nearly 3,000 Americans killed that day. She is in no position to question the loyalty of Americans, Jewish or otherwise.

Given that she has now compared her 9/11 remarks to that of President Bush, the time has come for the media to step up and ask her to elaborate her views of the attacks of September 11, 2001. Was President Bush right to go to war? Or does she think America invited this attack? I would like to know and so would a lot of other Americans. But we can't get the answers if no journalists are prepared to ask the questions.
