The Astros began the season losing three out of four to the Tampa Bay Rays (who own MLB's best record at 13-4) and two out of three to the Texas Rangers. But Houston has no problem since then sweeping the A's, the New York Yankees and the Mariners on the road before tonight's triumph against Oakland in front of their home fans.
I don't think it comes as a shock to anyone that the Astros would win 10 in a row just as the Kansas City Royals recently lost 10 in a row. But it is a surprise thus far that the AL West has been quite competitive. The only team under .500 is the Los Angeles Angels and they are 8-9. The AL West might be the best division in MLB, but the Astros are at the head of the class.
