Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has issued an order forbidding cities and counties from issuing mask ordinances.
Kemp's edict effectively voids mask ordinances put in place in Atlanta, Athens, Augusta and Savannah.
After reopening the economy prematurely in late April, COVID-19 has been surging in the Peach State with nearly 4,000 positive cases within the past 24 hours along with increasing hospitalization levels. Despite COVID-19 cases doubling over the past month, Kemp insists that wearing masks should be voluntary.
I mean even Alabama's GOP Governor Kay Ivey is saying, "Do the right thing and wear a mask."
You know things are bad when Georgia makes Alabama look progressive.
