More than 30 MLB players have tested positive for COVID-19 thus far.
The most prominent names in the group are Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman, New York Yankees infielder D.J. LeMahieu, Minnesota Twins third baseman Miguel Sano and Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez. While LeMahieu is reportedly asymptomatic as is Sano and Perez while Freeman has been feeling ill since Thursday.
Other players who have revealed positive tests are pitchers Touki Touissant and Will Smith as well utility player Pete Kozma of the Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees pitcher Luis Cessa, Cleveland Indians outfielder Delino DeShields, Jr., San Diego Padres outfielder Tommy Pham, Minnesota Twins catcher Willians Astudillo and Boston Red Sox pitchers Josh Taylor and Darwinzon Hernandez.
I have a bad feeling we are merely scratching the surface.
Please cancel the 2020 MLB season and wait until next year.
