While in concert last week in Berlin, former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters donned an SS uniform and projected an image of Anne Frank alongside Shireen Abu Akleh.
For starters, wearing a SS uniform is a breach of German law. But I'm sure Waters figures he will get away with it. After all, he did it before. Officials in Frankfurt banned him from performing but Waters sued and won.
Of course, Waters' agenda is to equate Israel with Nazi Germany just as Mahmoud Abbas does in his role as President of the Palestinian Authority. Hence placing images of Anne Frank and Shireen Abu Akleh side by side. Abu Akleh was the Palestinian-American journalist accidentally killed by the IDF in crossfire with Palestinians a year ago. Earlier this month, the IDF formally apologized for her death.
Even if Israel is in the wrong where it concerns Abu Akleh's death there is world of difference between Israel and the Nazis who rounded up Jews for the purpose of sending them to their deaths until every last Jew on Earth was killed. Suffice it to say, the Nazis never apologized for killing Anne Frank let alone any of the 6 million Jews they slaughtered. Indeed, there were a great many Palestinians who cheered on the Nazis. Given Waters' apparent fetish with the SS perhaps he wished he could have done the same.
