Today, the whole world is united in condemning Russia for its invasion of Ukraine which has thus far claimed the lives of 137 civilians.
Well, just about the whole world. There are a few countries with Russia's orbit such as Belarus which are along for the ride. But if one goes outside that orbit just about the only people who are praising Vladimir Putin's actions are defeated former President Donald Trump and his cronies.
The defeated former President praised Putin's actions in Ukraineas "pretty smart", "genius" and "savvy" while also telling Laura Ingraham the invasion was a result of "a rigged election". Of course, Putin has had designs on Ukraine long before Donald Trump ever decided to run for office. But Trump believes what he wants to believe and those who worship at his altar or wish to curry favor will believe what he wants to believe.
Enter former Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn who blasted the Biden Administration for laughing "at Russia's legitimate security concerns" and for its efforts "to demonize Russia." Mind you, this is the same man who only a month ago claimed George Soros and Bill Gates invented COVID to defeat Trump. The defeated former President brought that defeat onto himself.
Meanwhile, former White House adviser Steve Bannon and Eric Prince of Blackwater praised Putin for being "anti-woke". And by anti-woke, they mean being anti-LGBTQ. Hillbilly Elegy author turned Ohio GOP Senate hopeful J.D. Vance blamed transgender rights for Russia's decision to kill Ukrainian civilians. This is only to going to get worse.
With that said, it won't be enough to condemn Russia. The nations of the world will have to stand with Ukraine and this very much remains to be seen if this will come to pass. Nevertheless, Trump and his apologists have praised Putin's naked aggression against Ukraine obliterating any sense of compassion, decency and humanity - qualities they perceive as weakness. Not only are Trump and company enemies of compassion, decency and humanity, but they are also enemies of America. It's about time America treats Trump and company like the traitors they are.
