Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren's DNA test which demonstrated she has Native American ancestry has generated anger among prominent Native Americans, has generated discussion that having such ancestry doesn't make her Native American and has reminded people that she may have erroneously benefited from making such claims in regard to her previous employment at Harvard University.
So why did she take a DNA test? Because President Trump challenged her to do so back in July and said if she could prove her claims he would donate $1 million to charity.
And she took the bait. But why? What was there to be gained from doing so? Did she think Trump would keep his end of the bargain? Of course he denied ever making such an offer despite all evidence to the contrary. And it doesn't matter because now Warren has been hooked and she is gasping for air and being throttled about by all sides of the political spectrum.
Advice to anyone who seeks to challenge President Trump - don't play on his terms because you will lose. The Democrat nominee must set the terms of the debate which ensures the maximization of his or her strengths while exploiting Trump's weaknesses. This is, of course, far easier said than done.
Somehow I don't think Elizabeth Warren is going to adapt to this jungle. Should Democrats choose to nominate her then I think Trump is going to wipe the floor with her, rub her face in it and enjoy every second of it.
