Orioles Dismiss Showalter Following Club Worse 115 Losses

The Baltimore Orioles have fired manager Buck Showalter after the team's abysmal 47-115 season in which they finished 61 games back of the Boston Red Sox. They weren't quite the 1962 New York Mets, but they came very close. Even the St. Louis Browns were never this bad. To give you an idea of just how bad the Orioles were, the Blue Jays finished 26 games ahead of the O's. Not that it counted for much because they fired their manager too.

Showalter had been at the helm of the team since 2011 and guided them to three post-season appearances earning AL Wild Card berths in 2012 and 2016 and the AL East in 2014. But this year everything just fell apart.

Well, I suppose the Orioles have nowhere to go but up. But the question is how far up and how long?
