When former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords was shot more than five years ago, the Left from President Obama on down blamed corrosive political discourse coming from Republicans and the Tea Party and the liberal media was all to happy to play along.
But when Republicans are the victims of political violence as was the case with an explosion at a GOP office in Hillsborough, North Carolina, President Obama and his liberal media cheerleaders do not lecture their own side on civil discourse. Indeed, one would have needed a microscope to find The New York Times article concerning this act of domestic terrorism. This would not have been the case had Democratic Party headquarters been the target.
The Left would be wise to keep their own house in order. As long as someone or a group of people feel the need to detonate explosives with the message "Nazi Republicans leave town or else" the Left has a big problem and it had better address it. Now!!!
Fortunately no lives were lost. But I'm sure those who planted the devices wanted someone to die. Politics in America is becoming a dangerous affair if someone must die because they do think as you do.Yes, please oppose Donald Trump to your heart's content. But how is killing a bunch of volunteers going to help that cause?
To end on a positive note, I am heartened that some Democrats have banded together to raise money on GoFundMe to rebuild the Republican headquarters to the tune of just over $13,000. Yet acts of goodwill between opposing camps should not be so few and far between. Especially when we have to live together.
