President Biden's 3rd SOTU Address Was Full of Piss & Vinegar

I watched President Biden's 3rd State of the Union address, and I must say it was full of piss and vinegar.

"Sleepy Joe" was nowhere to be found. President Biden spoke forcefully and was not afraid to rattle Republican cages on the bipartisan border deal defeated, former President Trump told them to reject.

Although my fears about pro-Hamas supporters calling the President "Genocide Joe" did not come to pass, it is clear Biden is feeling heat from a critical mass of Democratic Party supporters voting uncommitted. While President Biden was unequivocal in his support of Ukraine against Russia, he was telling Israel it had to do its part to get humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. Biden also made a point of saying that most of the 30,000 people who have been killed in Gaza were not Hamas members. According to whom? Hamas? The days of Biden likening Hamas to ISIS appear to be over. With that said, President Biden did acknowledge that Hamas hides among Palestinian civilians and is still bringing pressure to bear on Hamas to release all hostages. Nor is he calling for a permanent ceasefire which is unlikely to endear to "uncommitted" Democratic voters.

Still, on balance, I'm more in agreement with President Biden than disagreement. He has made his presidency about improving the lot of everyday people whether its capping price on prescription drugs, student loan relief, the child tax credit and infrastructure spending. Tonight, President Biden demonstrated he is the best thing the Democratic Party has to offer. As for defeated, former President Donald Trump (whom Biden referred to as his predecessor) all he wants is power for himself and retribution against his enemies real and imagined.

President Biden also spoke of his advanced age and reminded us he was first elected to the Senate when he was 29 stating there was a time when he was considered too young to be in public life. Biden argued that it isn't how old you are, but how old your ideas are.

Naturally, the question remains as to whether President Biden can sustain this pace through November and if the message will get through to the American voter. This, of course, remains to be seen. But President Biden has been underestimated his whole life and thrives on fighting back from behind on behalf of the well-being of all Americans whether they support him or not.
