California Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff will face former MLB superstar turned Republican political neophyte Steve Garvey in the U.S. Senate race in the Golden State in November.
However, Schiff will face less of a challenge from Garvey's line drives than he will from brushback pitches from pro-Hamas supporters like those who shut down what ought to have been his triumphant victory speech.
Schiff can expect a lot more of this between now and November considering the fact that he's both Jewish and a steadfast supporter of Israel who has loudly proclaimed he will "defend Israel's right to defend itself."
Perhaps supporters of Katie Porter and especially Barbara Lee will have hard feelings and heckle Schiff while staying home on election day. But California is a liberal stronghold and Schiff is a high profile anti-Trumper given his prominent role in the first impeachment of defeated, former President Trump. Adam Schiff will be California's next Senator whether Hamas apologists like it or not.
