Trump bested both Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley by more than 30 points. With 86% of the vote in, Trump tallied 51% of the vote compared to 21.2% for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and 19.1% of the vote for former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley. Thus far, Trump has earned 16 delegates as compared to four apiece for DeSantis and Haley.
OK, Trump is leading DeSantis by 29.8% of the vote as of this writing. But this is a blowout which makes George W. Bush's 10-point triumph over Steve Forbes in 2000 look like a nailbiter by comparison. Some are concerned about second place. I am not one of them.
Neither DeSantis nor Haley is going to win the Republican nomination. They will drop out whether it is tomorrow, next week or in February. But drop out they will.
It isn't going to get much better from here at least until November.
