As of this writing, Hamas has killed more than 700 people in Israel including four Americans. It has also killed or kidnapped nationals from other countries such as the U.K., France, Thailand, Cambodia and Nepal.
Guess who Michigan Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib blames?
Tlaib issued a statement calling upon Israel to act towards "lifting the blockade, ending the occupation, and dismantling the apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance.”
Not all Democrats share Tlaib sentiments. New York Democrat Ritchie Torres criticized Tlaib (as well as Missouri Democrat Cori Bush who called for the U.S. to halt funding to Israel). Torres took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and taking dead aim at Tlaib's characterization of Hamas' actions as a form of resistance, "Shame on anyone who glorifies as “resistance” the largest single-day mass murder of Jews since the Holocaust. It is reprehensible and repulsive."
Hamas does not object to Israel's actions, but rather to Israel's existence. One only need read the Hamas Covenant of 1988:
This Covenant of the Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS), clarifies its picture, reveals its identity, outlines its stand, explains its aims, speaks about its hopes, and calls for its support, adoption and joining its ranks. Our struggle against the Jews is very great and very serious. It needs all sincere efforts. It is a step that inevitably should be followed by other steps. The Movement is but one squadron that should be supported by more and more squadrons from this vast Arab and Islamic world, until the enemy is vanquished and Allah's victory is realised.
Sadly, we can look forward many more public figures cast blame upon Israel for Hamas' actions against Israel and their crimes against humanity. When such garbage is uttered, it must be cleansed with the truth and those who utter this garbage must be exposed for aiding and abetting evil and shamed without mercy.
These attacks have been characterized as Israel's 9/11. Well, as with 9/11, you are either with Israel or you are with the terrorists. I do not intend to be kind to those who choose the latter.
