Henri Downgraded to Tropical Storm But Still Does Damage in New England

Henri turned out not to be a hurricane after all. Hurricane Bob's record remains intact. Henri was downgraded to a Tropical Storm but it is still doing plenty of damage with tens of thousands of people in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts are presently without power. The storm is expected to hang around the region until tomorrow.

In the Bay State, the worst of the storm occurred on the Cape and in Western Massachusetts. In my neck of the woods, there was heavy rain and wind in the morning. It has been raining intermittently with occasional winds.

While I would prefer to be out and about on a Sunday, I decided to stay in today aside from a brief 15-minute walk in the neighborhood which saw some rain.

If nothing else Henri was a good opportunity to clean up my room and get some rest. Of course, for thousands of other New Englanders, Henri will be anything but restful.
