Dodgers Sweep Brewers to Win 5th NL Pennant Since 2017; Ohtani MVP with 3 HR, 10 K Performance

The Los Angeles Dodgers have swept the Milwaukee Brewers to win back-to-back NL pennants and their 5th NL pennant since 2017.

The Dodgers bested the Brewers 5-1 on the strength of Shohei Ohtani both on the mound and at the plate. Ohtani blasted 3 HR while striking out 10 batters in six innings of shutout baseball. Ohtani was named NLCS MVP.

During the regular season, the Brew Crew went 6-0 vs. the defending World Series champions. But in October they showed precious little of their regular season form as the Dodgers outscored them 15-4 limiting Milwaukee to a run per game. The Brewers have reached the post-season in 7 of the past 8 seasons and have yet to win the NL pennant. It is now the third time they have been eliminated by the Dodgers.

Prior to the post-season, Dad predicted the Dodgers would be undefeated in October. Well, he's been almost on the mark, and the Dodgers are 9-1 in this post-season. The Dodgers swept the Reds in the NLWC, ousted the Phillies in four games in the NLDS and have now swept the Brewers in the NLCS. Aside from a Game 3 loss to Philadelphia in the NLDS, the Dodgers have been flawless.

The Dodgers will attempt to become the first team to win consecutive World Series titles since the New York Yankees won thrice in a row between 1998-2000. Los Angeles will either face the Seattle Mariners or the Toronto Blue Jays. The Mariners currently hold a 3-2 lead in the ALCS and could clinch their first AL pennant tomorrow night. Or the Jays could force a Game 7 on Sunday evening.

Whoever prevails I have only thing to say - Beat L.A.
