Trump: "Nothing More Could Have Been Done" About COVID-19 Which Has Now Infected 6.5 Million Americans

I was already aware of most of the revelations Bob Woodward had made regarding President Trump with respect to COVID-19 his new book Rage.

However, I did learn something new during Scott Pelley's interview of Woodward on 60 Minutes broadcast earlier this hour.

In their last conversation recorded on August 14th (almost a month ago today), Trump told Woodward with regard to COVID-19, "Nothing more could have been done."

President Trump telling Bob Woodward in August that "nothing more could have been done" is worse than telling him in March that he "likes playing it down."

I hope Joe Biden's team is making a commercial with Trump uttering these words as we speak. Or perhaps The Lincoln Project.

Because those are the words of a President who has surrendered. They are also the words of a President who didn't even try.

A President of the United States saying, "Nothing more could have been done," just isn't good enough.

Especially when as of today more than 6.5 million Americans (6,515,135 Americans as of this writing) have been infected with COVID-19 while closing in on 200,000 deaths.

"Nothing more could have been done" is Donald Trump's legacy when faced with the greatest crisis on American soil since the Civil War.

Biden will meet Trump to debate him in 16 days from now. Every time Trump dares to brag of his COVID response Biden must tell him:

"You said 'nothing more could have been done.' You quit on COVID and you quit on the American people. Mr. President, something can be done about COVID and I'm the man to do it."

Under the circumstances, September 29th, November 3rd and January 20, 2021 cannot come soon enough.
