Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer which has metastasized to the bone.
Needless to say, I hope that Biden has a swift recovery and hope he will be enjoying bike rides and ice cream cones with his grandkids very soon.
At the same time, I am also saddened that it has taken a cancer diagnosis for anyone to spare a kind word for Biden. In recent days, we have been treated to headlines about Biden's alleged mental decline while in office with the release of Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson's forthcoming book Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again.
Even as President Trump accepts a $400 million bribe from Qatar, James Comer wasted no time in announcing yet another House investigation into Biden regarding the "cover-up" of his so-called mental decline.
In view of this diagnosis perhaps Biden did not have the good health or stamina necessary for a second term in the White House. Nevertheless, from where I sit, on his worst day, Joe Biden is a better President than Donald Trump on his best day. Biden presided over the longest stretch of unemployment below 5% since the 1960s. In the last 41 months of his presidency, unemployment was 5% or below.
Unfortunately, we have become a country where one bad debate counts for more than 34 criminal convictions. Democrats acted like a mob in ridding themselves of Biden and they have been rewarded with four more years of Donald Trump notwithstanding an excellent debate from Kamala Harris. A classic case of Harris winning the battle, but Trump winning the war.
Joe Biden deserved a better fate. Instead, we elected the President we deserved.
Now Biden is in the biggest battle of his life. Let us hope he wins this one.
