Trump Wants to be President, Pope & King of Everything (Except Perhaps for Russia)

That Donald Trump would post an AI image of himself as the next Pope doesn't shock me.

That the image was posted on the White House's official Twitter/X account is chilling demonstration of his megalomania, and yet another step towards authoritarianism not only in the United States, but in institutions around the world be they academic, civic or religious.

A great many Catholics were offended although VP Vance was not. But that should not come as a surprise as I believe he has put Trump before G-d.

We should all know that Donald Trump and his quislings do not care if you are offended so long as you do not offend him. In that case, you can expect to lose your federal funding, your law firm to be sanctioned or to be deported to El Salvador.

Donald Trump is not merely content to be President of the United States. Why else appoint yourself President of the Kennedy Center? I can easily foresee a scenario under which he becomes President of Harvard University.

Thus, it is not a stretch that Trump would like to see himself as Pope and mused about it after Pope Francis' burial. That he isn't Catholic is immaterial. Since when do such details matter to Trump?

A man such as Trump wants to be President, Pope and King of everything - well, perhaps except for Russia. But if Putin dies in office, then perhaps he'll covet it too. In which case, perhaps he will meet Napoleon's fate.

Where it concerns the papacy, I don't think Trump will be so anointed, but I suspect whoever the conclave selects as the next Pope will be someone to his liking.
