The American League has prevailed in the 2026 MLB All-Star Game besting the National League in a 4-0 shutout victory at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies.

AL pitching limited NL batters to three hits. The NL managed only three singles - one from New York Mets slugger Juan Soto in the 4th, one from Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong in the 8th and one from Miami Marlins shortstop Otto Lopez with two outs in the bottom of the 9th.

If not for Lopez's last-minute hit, the NL would have tied the 1990 NL squad with two hits when Will Clark and Lenny Dykstra collected singles for the Senior Circuit in a 2-0 loss to the AL during the mid-summer classic at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Speaking of Wrigley Field, the 2027 MLB All-Star Game will be played there barring a lockout by MLB owners.

As for the AL, they scored three runs in the 1st inning on a two-run single by New York Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger followed by another single from his Yankees teammate Ben Rice. Chicago White Sox third baseman Miguel Vargas provided an insurance run with a solo HR in the 8th.

As a result of his 2 RBI performance, Bellinger was named the All-Star Game MVP.

The second half of the 2026 MLB season will resume on Friday.
