The Indictment of Former FBI Director is About Revenge for Trump, Not Justice for the American People

What exactly constitutes false statements and obstruction on the part of Comey remains to be seen. But what is clear is that this indictment has nothing to do with the interest of justice for the American people, but for revenge on the part of President Trump.

Trump, of course, is jubilant characterizing Comey as "one of the worst human beings this Country has ever been exposed to". If that isn't a statement of projection, then nothing is. Yet, if it weren't for Comey, Trump wouldn't have been elected President in the first place. But let us remember that Trump fired Comey in 2017 because his oath of loyalty is to the Constitution, not to him. Let us further remember that Trump has been calling for Comey to be indicted since 2017 - long before the timeline pertaining to the allegations Comey is now facing.

Given Lindsey Halligan's inexperience in trying a case one can only hope that the government's case is so egregious and incompetent that either a judge will accept a defense motion to dismiss the charges or a jury will acquit. But even if those scenarios should come to pass, it will not deter Trump. He will direct his minions to find something other case to construct against Comey out of whole cloth. Because this is what happens when you have a revenge system instead of a justice system.
