At least half a dozen articles already removed are about the Holocaust and now have the word “DEI” in their URL.Those include an article about Holocaust survivor Kitty Saks, which remembers the Holocaust as “the state-sponsored, systemic persecution and annihilation of European Jewry”; an article about Holocaust Remembrance Week; and an article titled “A Cadet’s Perspective: Holocaust Days of Remembrance.”
Given that American forces liberated Buchenwald, Dora-Mittelbau, Flossenburg, Dachau and Mauthausen, you would think this would be something the DoD would be proud to acknowledge.
But this is the Trump Administration we're talking about. The one in which Elon Musk yields tremendous power. The same Elon Musk who gives Nazi salutes, supports Germany's AfD while telling Germans to move past the "guilt" of the Holocaust, and shares tweets which absolve Hitler for being culpable for the Holocaust .
Make no mistake. In view of Musk's views, erasing references to the Holocaust on the grounds that it is DEI is a form of Holocaust denial.
Of course, the Holocaust isn't the Trump Administration's only WWII target when it comes to DEI - Navajo Code Talkers, Medgar Evers and even Jackie Robinson - if only briefly.
Now I'm aware of the fact that DEI itself has been construed as anti-Semitic for excluding Jews. Yet the anti-DEI zealots in the Trump Administration are replacing one form of tyranny with another. I can't think of a more anti-Semitic act than to erase the Holocaust in the name of ending DEI.
