More Than 750,000 Americans Have Died of COVID-19 & Still We Resist Vaccines

Today, the COVID-19 death toll in the United States surpassed 750,000. According to Johns Hopkins University, COVID has now claimed the lives of 750,410 Americans out of 46,252,631 cases representing a mortality rate of 1.6%.

Sixteen days ago, we reached 725,000 deaths on the day former Secretary of State Colin Powell died. It had taken 17 days to go from 700,000 to 725,000 deaths. While we're not losing 100,000 people a month at the moment it did take more than two months to record 25,000 deaths in the now halcyon months of May and June.

Yet despite all the death around us a critical mass refuse to be vaccinated as we struggled to reach a fully vaccinated rate of 60%. Police, firefighters, teachers and even health care workers across the country are refusing to be vaccinated. Evidently they would rather lose their livelihoods than save their own lives and that of their families. It would seem no amount of death even within their own household will be sufficient to move these people to roll up their sleeves. I guess these people want to learn the hard way, if they want to learn at all.
