The United Kingdom has now lost of 100,000 members of its populace due to COVID-19.
The U.K. has now become the fifth country in the world to reach this toll joining the United States, Brazil, India and Mexico.
Despite being the first country in the world to administer COVID-19 vaccines things have been getting worse across the Atlantic due to a deadly variant which originated in the U.K and the ongoing incompetence and inconsistency of British PM Boris Johnson.
Yet things remain worse in the United States where it concerns COVID-19.
While 100,000 people have died of COVID-19 in the U.K.; 100,000 people have died of COVID-19 in the U.S. in the past 34 days. Today, the United States passed 425,000 COVID-19 deaths. According to Johns Hopkins University, 425,062 Americans have died of COVID-19 out of 25,437,225 cases representing a mortality rate of 1.7%.
Let me put it another way. It was one week ago today that then President-elect Joe Biden mourned the deaths of 400,000 Americans due to COVID-19. More than 25,000 Americans have died of COVID-19 in the past 7 days.
And President Biden is preparing us for far worse warning us that the COVID-19 death toll could top 600,000 on his third day in office.
I don't want to diminish the damage COVID-19 has done in the U.K. But the United States in a class by itself and in a class we ought not to be registered.
