McConnell Can't Say Case Closed Until We've Heard From Mueller

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has declared the Mueller Report is "case closed" and the time has come to move on.

Elizabeth Warren said not so fast and read portions of the Mueller Report from the Senate floor. I have a lot of problems with Warren, but she did very well here.

But this is a short term fix. We must hear from Bob Mueller himself. And by declaring the matter "case closed" it would appear McConnell is trying to prevent Mueller from testifying before Congress. Indeed, it comes a day after President Trump reversed course and said Mueller should not testify. This cannot stand.

If Republicans think the Mueller Report has exonerated President Trump then why can't they ask him to say so for the record? What are they so afraid of? Well, the truth for starters because President Trump and the truth are virtual strangers.

Robert Mueller's testimony won't result in President Trump's impeachment, but it has the potential of doing damage to his re-election prospects next year. This is the one and only reason Trump, McConnell and the GOP don't want Mueller to talk. The question now is how far will they go. I shudder to think what the answer might be.
