There can only be one reason why the Trump Administration would refuse to let Dr. Anthony Fauci testify before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health & Human Services, Education & Other Related Agencies. Fauci would tell the truth.
This would mean making statements that would be the Trump Administration's response to COVID-19 into an unflattering light. Of course, Fauci has been critical in the most diplomatic way possible and has corrected Trump's numerous falsehood and misstatements leading the President to lose his limited patience with Fauci when he suggested it would be better if the election were conducted by mail, a measure which Trump opposes.
I am not one to give Trump advice. But if he wants to keep the focus on Joe Biden answering questions about Tara Reade's sexual assault allegations then the last thing he should do is prevent Fauci from testifying. Once again Trump makes himself and his trustworthiness the issue. By not permitting Fauci to testify Trump conveys the impression he has something to hide. If Trump insists on displaying his shortcomings and making himself the issue before the American voter in six months time then by all means he should begin planning his move out of the White House.
